Tom Jones heading for the green grass of home

Welsh warbler Tom Jones famously crooned about how spiffing it is to cop a feel of ‘The Green Green Grass of Home’, and it seems the permatanned sex bomb is true to his word. After more than three decades sunning himself in the Californian sunshine, Sir Tom has signalled his intention to return to Blighty.
The 69-year-old soul man moved to the States back in 1974 after snapping up an imposing house which once belonged to Brat Pack legend Dean Martin. But according to the Daily Mirror, Sir Tom’s had enough of the sunshine and plastic surgery and will be back in the UK by the end of the year.
“I’ve had a great time living in LA but after all these years we think now is the time to move home,” said the singer. “My wife Linda’s been getting homesick lately and we have been talking it over for a while.
“I decided to move before Robbie [Williams] but he got there before me. I said to him: ‘I’ve been talking about it all this time and you’ve gone and done it.’ Britain has always been home… I miss it more and more when I go back to LA. It’s the people and humour you can’t get anywhere else.
“We’d like somewhere in the country but I think we’ll get a place in London first to ease back into it.”
Hooray! Welcome home, Mr Jones. Don’t hesitate to pop round if you need to borrow a cup of sugar.
